Rain, Rain Go Away

At this point, I'm just about over the rain. Unless it's going to be accompanied by some thunder and lightning in the form of a great spring thunderstorm, or unless it's accompanying the fresh bloom of spring, I'm over it. I'm over cold. I'm over cold and wet. I'm over cold and wet and gray. Winter has taken its sweet, sweet time in going, and I'm ready to usher it out as quickly as possible.

Instead of focusing on the gloom, though, I'd rather focus on the colorful. The beautiful. The possibilities that are yet to come once the sun (and sweet, sweet B12) decides to show itself again. Spring is on its way. Soon my lawn will be green, my flower beds will be (built) planted, and I will be well on my way to enjoying open windows, fresh air, and all the loveliness that not-winter has to offer. The most important being the start of the spring/summer fruit season that means I can quit spending my time defrosting strawberries and instead eat them right out of the quart.

Soon. Very, very soon.

  1. It's always been funny to me how we long for cold when it's hot and heat when it's cold. We want it to be sunny and dry when it rains, and not when it's sunny and dry.
But we can all agree on fresh strawberries at any time of the year.
